and i thought we'd get along really well. me and level 1. cuz i've been working out regularly for a while now and level 1 was looking easy peasy. well, it wasn't so easy peasy and i now know i'm gonna be feeling it in the morning. thank you jillian. no pain, no gain right? we will meet again tomorrow! and soon i'll meet level 2. you just wait and see!
this is my sweet and brilliant thinker of a 5 yr old finley grace. she thinks about every little thing and asks really good questions. let me preface this by saying that my parents are divorced and remarried to other people. my mom is granny, her husband is papa, my dad is poppy, and his wife is grandma pat. we recently went to visit my dad in california and as we all rode back from dinner together, finley asked me this question. "mom, do you marry one person when you're young and then when you get older you marry someone else like granny and poppy did?" my answer-"ummmm. let me think about that and talk to daddy and we'll get back to you". gotta love her. i'm stumped. we are stumped.
we are a christian family and believe one marriage FOREVER. now we know sometimes it aint all roses and it doesn't work out that way, but that is not what we are teaching our kids. am i making too big a deal out of this question? i just really feel like this question requires the "right" answer and i don't want to say the wrong thing and miss my chance to give her some good information.
let me give you some background for another question she recently asked. my older brother had a son when he was in college many years ago. that son is now 15. my brother got married last year. finley doesn't really spend that much time with my brother b/c we don't have the same mom and he doesn't live near me, so she really doesn't know much about his son either. so we were talking about my brother getting married and his new wife, etc. and very thoughtfully she says to me, "how can matthew have already had 15 birthdays if uncle mario just got married?" see, in her world people get married, then they have kids. she knows nothing different. not sure how to break it to her. HELP people!!!!!
i love that kid. she is so analytical and so stinkin smart and she really gives me a run for my money.

i love most all things jodi picoult. i think she is an amazing writer and she's always surprising.
not so sure we are going to keep this one on our list becaue it isn't getting good reviews and i really put a lot of stock into others opinions of books. we'll see.
i love to see people excited and crunk about Christ! i try every day to be more obedient and follow God's Word and i so look forward to reading this book. oh, and i love the shirts they have too :)

i've decided to link up with mrs. smith over at mr. and mrs. smith for the 6 wk weight loss challenge. yes, it is the 2nd week, but better late than never.
i'd love to lose a minimum of 15 lbs, but i'd be ecstatic with 20. the problem is my eating habits. and then there's the coke. i think i'm addicted. i'm talking about the cola, not the white powder.
so i love fast food, i'm a coke addict, and oh yeah....i hate working out. i hate working out, but i've resigned myself to doing it. i've really been trying and succeeding at doing a whole lot better with my workout routine and my husband has been really helpful with this. he has joined the gym with me and we take spin and boot camp class together.
you see, me and the gym don't get along so well. i've been on and off with it for about 5 yrs now. i'll get a membership, go for a while, then quit. i mean, get the cute workout clothes and everything. but this time? this time i've really stuck with it and i'm even looking for a 5k for the hubs and i to run together.
i don't usually weigh myself for obvious reasons so this will be a new thing for me. scary really. i didn't even look at the scale when i went to my weekly ob check ups.
my plan for losing the weight is portion control and working out since i don't want to give up the coke or fast food, if i'm being honest.

{five} what is your go-to hair style when having a bad hair day? ponytail. sometimes a hat with all my hair to the back, but that can get annoying b/c i HATE having my hair directly on my neck. and also the hat can give me a headache and make my forehead itch. i'm weired i know.
{six} do you read the newspaper on a daily basis? i really only "read" the sunday paper and that's just as i'm going through the ads. i get my news from everywhere other than the newspaper
{seven} do you have a favorite celebrity chef? umm, i guess maybe paula deen
{eight} what tv show would you like to make a guest appearance on? the office
{nine} do you have satellite radio in your car? yes. i don't know what i'd do without it. i loathe regular radio on most days and times.
{ten} what was the last movie that made you cry? probably the last movie i saw. i forgot what it was, but i cry on commercials and on any genre of movie. yes, i'm that girl and my husband is quite embarassed.
